Percolation Testing

Site Suitability Accessments

Sites that do not have access to a public sewer have to dispose of waste water on site.

In the planning application a proposal is made on the proposed method of waste water treatment on-site. Disposal is usually by a septic tank/mechanical aeration unit and an associated percolation area. The Local Authority has to be satisfied that effluent can safely be treated on site without causing pollution and environmental health risks.

In order to minimise any difficulties with the Local Authority, Planning & Development Services advises that the site suitability assessment report be completed in line with the EPA 2000 standards. On sites where ground conditions are unsuitable for a conventional septic tank system with percolation area we can advise a range of alternative systems which comply to EPA 2000 guidelines.

The site assessments includes a range of studies to be researched including hydrological, geology, archaeological, soil types and associated drainage properties of same.

Our trained staff will conduct a percolation test on your site and provide a report based upon their findings, detailing site properties, drainage characteristics, potential environmental risks, photographic photos and a recommended treatment option available to be developed together with all relevant specification & construction drawings.

We can conduct tests for all Local Authority’s.
